Select for the application

Select a collaborative welding arm by checking the complete tool and workpiece arrangement against the exact model documentation. Part size alone cannot determine the arm. A published reach figure does not establish access to every joint, and arm repeatability is not a weld quality guarantee.

Begin with drawings showing weld locations, joint orientation, fixtures and loading access. Record material, thickness, fit-up variation, batch size and the acceptance criteria your customer uses. This information makes model comparisons relevant to the actual job.

Check the shortlist

  • Tool loading: torch, attached sensors, brackets and relevant cable loads.
  • Geometry: access to each seam with the intended torch orientation.
  • Mounting: base location, fixtures and surrounding equipment.
  • Process interfaces: controller, power source, torch, feeder and any options.
  • Documentation: model-specific limits, manuals and proposed configuration.

Distinguish the mass of tooling carried by the arm from workpieces held by separate fixtures. Ask the supplier to evaluate the tooling arrangement, including the load information required by the model documentation.

Request application evidence

Ask for a layout review and a representative sample evaluation with agreed conditions. Include awkward joints, starts and stops, part variation and the full handling cycle. Record the tested configuration and inspection method so results can be interpreted without extending them to unrelated parts.

Review the complete installation and protective measures with competent personnel. The collaborative label alone does not resolve welding process hazards; see the safety planning guide.

Make the inquiry specific

When contacting CBOXTEC, identify any CTC-HJ models you are comparing and send the application inputs above. Ask which requirements remain unverified and obtain written scope before selecting equipment.
